SundaySky Welcomes New CEO Marc Zionts, An Expanded Leadership Team, And Dozens Of New Customers

Today, SundaySky announced exciting new changes to its leadership team, including bringing Marc Zionts on as CEO. Along with Marc’s fresh perspective and strong track record, he is joined at SundaySky by industry leaders Larry Murff (CFO), Barbara Dischner (SVP Marketing), Jessica Deckinger (Board of Directors), and Phil Leininger (Strategic Advisory Board). This expanded leadership team will join SundaySky to help deliver easier, more cost-effective video creation and personalization capabilities to more customers than ever before.

A note from CEO Marc Zionts on why he joined SundaySky:

“I’m thrilled to join SundaySky and excited to lead the company through its continued transformation, creating value for our customers and all shareholders. I’m drawn to the mission to transform scaled, efficient, and personalized business communication through video.

Since my initial encounter with SundaySky’s visionary founders and executives in 2017, I’ve witnessed the evolution of our company’s vision, which has only deepened my admiration for what we aim to achieve for the benefit of our customers. From our roots in managed services to our current offering of a self-service SaaS product, SundaySky’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction across diverse industries is evident.

Having led companies since the inception of my first venture in 1987, I bring a wealth of experience guiding organizations through various stages of growth and development. Whether navigating the complexities of VC-backed enterprises, publicly traded firms, or PE-owned entities, my journey has equipped me with insights from AI to video optimization and from startups to public companies. My arrival at SundaySky is not just a culmination of past successes but a testament to my unwavering dedication to continuous learning, intellectual curiosity, and relentless pursuit in supporting businesses as they navigate new technologies and how to operationalize said technologies to deliver value to their organizations.”

New leadership builds on market opportunity and strong company momentum

In the recent report “Reduce Technical Debt By Understanding Enterprise Video Platform Capabilities Before RFP,” Forrester outlined a unique market opportunity for enterprise video platforms like SundaySky to “unlock new tiers of enterprise value.”

With the expanded leadership team in place, SundaySky is poised to capture even more of this market by building on significant growth momentum from 2023, where the company saw strong signals for accelerated market adoption and usage of its enterprise video platform to create, personalize, and scale video for customer and employee journeys.

New customers, new opportunities

As more companies recognize the value of video and the need to scale it efficiently, SundaySky has seen an influx of customers in new and existing markets, including increased adoption in new mid-sized markets—such as software technology, regional credit unions, and higher ed institutions to boost student enrollment—as well as continued enterprise adoption in the financial services, utilities and energy, and healthcare verticals. New customers across all categories include IntouchCX, People First Federal Credit Union, Nexamp, WebMD Health Services, and many more.

In addition to growing customer demand, SundaySky has seen increased adoption from its customers, underscoring the need for data-driven content engagement—especially as now, more than 50% of its customers’ videos are personalized. Most recently, we’ve seen personalized recap videos as an important video touchpoint to boost customer loyalty and stickiness, reinforce value, show appreciation, and reduce churn.

SundaySky has prioritized product development focused on making data-driven personalization in video easier than ever with the launch of its Data Connectors Marketplace, which provided out-of-the-box data integrations for Salesforce, Hubspot, and Google Sheets—with an Adobe Marketo data connector targeted to launch in April of this year.

SundaySky also saw significant usage and adoption of the platform’s generative AI Copilot assistant feature in beta, which will be generally available by the end of Q2 2024. The tool has already shown a strong ability to help accelerate video creation for video experts and non-video experts alike: on average AI Copilot helped create a video in just 22 minutes—a fraction of the time (18%) that SundaySky users take to create a video from scratch.

We look forward to seeing how SundaySky customers continue to make personalized video an integral part of their digital marketing, product management, and customer engagement strategies in the months ahead.
