Today, it has evolved into a medium specifically intended for the interactive<br \/>\n    Web user experience.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mce-hs-more\" style=\"height: 20px !important;\"\n        src=\"image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Online videos today have a common goal: to drive the user to take an action for a specific initiative. Ecommerce<br \/>\n    product videos aim to increase online revenue, and educational customer support videos seek to reduce care cost and<br \/>\n    avoid churn. But no matter the video&#8217;s goal, they both use <a title=\"calls to action (CTAs)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Call_to_action_(marketing)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calls<br \/>\n        to action (CTAs)<\/a> to engage the customer.<\/p>\n<p>The primary rule\u00a0for CTAs is to begin with a verb, as these are most effective to prompt customers to take action &#8211;<br \/>\n    no matter if the delivery channel is an email, text message, social post or video. However, there are a few more<br \/>\n    best-practice tips when applying calls to action within online videos.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some best practices for incorporating CTAs into online videos, and a few CTAs common\u00a0to today&#8217;s\u00a0SmartVideo<br \/>\n    programs.<\/p>\n<h3>Best Practices<\/h3>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"img-1352779823232\" style=\"\"\n            src=\"\/\/cdn2.hubspot.net\/hub\/165863\/file-18387475-png\/images\/example1-prioritizedcta.png\"\n            alt=\"ATT SmartVideo calls to action\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>#1: Less is more<br \/>\n    <\/strong>Limit the number of calls to action presented at one time \u2013 the recommended number is three. When there are<br \/>\n    multiple CTAs present, be sure to prioritize them so the primary action is clear to the viewer, either by color or<br \/>\n    button size. Drive best results when the CTA is focused.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2: Be where the action is<br \/>\n    <\/strong>Placement of the video call to action buttons should be prominent and where you want the viewer to take the<br \/>\n    action. But if<br \/>\n    video completion rate is 30 percent and the majority of viewers are dropping off at the average 60-second mark, then<br \/>\n    it\u2019s time to review that video and perhaps move the CTA to appear early in the video.<\/p>\n<p>However, always include a summary of key CTAs in the last, closing scene, too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Common SmartVideo Calls to Action<\/h3>\n<p><strong>#1: \u201cMake a payment\u201d<br \/>\n    <\/strong>A standard CTA for videos\u00a0focused on\u00a0delivering bills and statements. Customer care oriented videos can<br \/>\n    reduce cost and churn while simultaneously increasing customer satisfaction, or in the case of the below Tweeter,<br \/>\n    customer infatuation!<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet tw-align-center\">\n<p>this <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search\/%23att\">#att<\/a> sending bill video to explain their billing process is<br \/>\n        pretty on point&#8230; I&#8217;m smitten with you now \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Britney Siren (@Siren_Voice) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Siren_Voice\/status\/258337893519593473\"\n            data-datetime=\"2012-10-16T22:45:28+00:00\">October 16, 2012<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>#2: \u201cCreate an account\u201d<br \/>\n    <\/strong>When customer engagement videos are aimed at onboarding new customers, this is a recommended CTA to drive<br \/>\n    those new customers to an online portal. &#8220;My Account&#8221; typically offers lifestyle-specific content for that customer,<br \/>\n    and thereby greatly increases the chance of building loyalty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#3: \u201cJoin us on Facebook\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n    A relatively new CTA, but quite appealing to the connected generation. Customer engagement and loyalty is occurring more on brand social pages than ever before, so why<br \/>\n    not direct them there? Be sure to direct viewers to the social platform that is most relevant to your customers,<br \/>\n    whether it&#8217;s Facebook, Pinterest or Google+.<\/p>\n<h4>What do you think?
